Why a Mood Swings Test (Without Trivializing Them)

Frequent mood swings are not a “character flaw,” nor are they a label that’s useful on its own. They’re often a signal of variability in the systems that regulate energy, attention, stress, and recovery. In practice, mood can shift quickly when the brain and body are negotiating resources (sleep, mental load, social demands, internal pressure) with reduced safety margins.

  3. What is the cost? (relationships, work, self-control, health)

Can this test tell me if I have a mood disorder?
No. The test is not diagnostic. It is meant to identify patterns compatible with emotional instability related to stress load, recovery debt, and cognitive overload. If symptoms are intense, persistent, or risky, clinical evaluation remains the reference.
Why do you consider recovery (axis_recovery_debt) separately from stress?
Because stress and recovery are not perfect opposites. You can have moderate stress but insufficient recovery (fragmented sleep, non-restorative breaks), or high stress but effective recovery. Mood stability often depends on the recovery margin available, not only on the load.
What do you mean by cognitive overload (axis_cognitive_overload)?
